Gitmo

I'm watching Hardball with Chris Matthews right now, and the hot topic is the detaining of suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay AKA "Gitmo". The debate really seems to have picked up lately as to whether or not the base should be closed. I say, if they have a good reason to put people there, then put them there, but ONLY if there is a good reason.
Imagine with me if you will...what happens if one day somehow Christians get tied with some sort of terrorist act (abortion clinic bombing, etc.), and then the government just decides that, "hey Christians are dangerous, and they should all be locked up." I know that sounds a little crazy, but it's really not that far-fetched. So, the government does need to show some restraint, and not just go around throwing whoever they want into a camp like this.
It seems to me that Gitmo has probably had some effect. Why we bend over to appease these detainees rights is beyond me. Do you think that if an American were taken hostage in a hostile foreign country that they would be given three square meals a day and have a tax payer funded Bible provided for them? I doubt it. I think we are doing the right thing in taking care of them, etc., but why give them the book that is their source of their hatred for us. I may not be a Koran expert, but I've read enough to know that Islam can be quite violent at times. It just seems strange to me.
I guess I've just had a lot on my mind lately, and putting it down here helps. If for nothing less, it helps me put my thoughts out clearly.
I'm glad that the Michael Jackson trial is done. Yes, he is legally innocent. If he really is innocent, then I feel somewhat bad for him, but only a little. Pardon the pun, but he did make his own bed. He really needs to wise up. Doing some of the things that he's done are not normal. I listened to a podcast the other day about what is normal and what is not. I don't care what anyone says, there are things that are normal. I don't buy into this whole "what works for me works for me, and what works for you works for you" stuff. Absolute right and wrong exist. Are they some gray issues? Of course there are, but not to the extent that some would want us to think. If that makes me intolerant, so be it I suppose. I do know that it is not normal for a man close to the age of my father to be sharing his bed with teens, no matter what the reason. That's all folks...

Apple's Switch

For those of you who aren't in the technology know, Apple announced today that they are going to be switching to Intel (ewwwww) chips over the next couple of years. I'm not sure what to make of all of this news yet. I'm not wild about the fact that my future Mac will have "the same" chip as Danielle's Dell. I've always liked the fact that Macs are different. Granted, they will still be different (aka better) than anything else you can use, but there is something just creepy to me about switching to Intel. Why did Apple switch from the PowerPC chip (which by they way will be used in the XBOX 360, PS3, and Nintendo Revolution)? Maybe they know something that the rest of us don't. I hope that they do.

Either way, it will be interesting to work in the business during this transition to see its side effects. Just one more issue to handle, I suppose.

For those of you that know me well, you know that I'm a Mac guy through and through. I'm not about to start a war over Mac vs. Windows, but I love my Macs. I'll use a Windows machine when I need to, but the Mac is so easy to use, so secure (no popups, viruses, etc.), and all around awesome, that I'd rather do it as little as possible).

Well that was a pretty techie post today. I guess a thunderstorm is about to roll in, so that's all for now.
